Preparing Your Space and Yourself
Welcome to The Dreams We Hold Sacred, Bringing Them Into The Light portal painting event. I am beyond grateful that you said yes to join me for this transformational and healing experience. Together we will call in inspiration, allies and guides that have only your greatest good in mind and that will guide you into embodying bigger aspects of your soul through this unique portal painting process.
Together we will tap into cosmic creation energy to alchemize ALL of who we are into reality - the human AND the supernatural. And there will be recordings if you can’t make it live.
As you prepare yourself and your space for this event, here are a few things to help you get ready. We will be painting big, but of course, you are invited to use anything you have available. Please do not stress about this, just consider that painting a large as life painting allows you to more freely feel the energy of actually stepping across the threshold into your dreaming state and generally heightens your experience. Some of the things I have painted on include rolled canvas, I typically use a piece measuring 38 x 54 and turn the edges under after painting to give a finished look to my painting, 4 sheets of 22 x 30 watercolor paper taped together on the back side, 40 x 60 inch sheet of cardboard, and somewhere around a 36 x 48 stretched canvas. Use your imagination to create the largest surface you can for the space you have available, although, there is no need to go larger than 40 x 60.
The first couple of days will be primarily setting the stage and opening up to your dreams and visions.
Day 1 - We will paint the first few layers which are watery and I typically use only 2-3 colors. I have used my inexpensive 7-pan watercolor paint set as well as Golden open high-flow acrylics. You can also use watered down acrylics. As I write this, I am considering the fun in trying a monochromatic color palette. Again, use what ever you have on hand.
Day 2 - We will use primarily 1 dark color and then, time permitting we will begin to bring in more color with acrylics or whatever you are choosing to use.
Day 3 - You will bring in more focus and detail as your dream solidifies. Then during the integration time, you will have time to engage with your portal painting on your own time until we meet again on April 20 for the special bonus session.
Bonus Integration - This will be a day of celebration as you add finishing touches and flourishes to your painting. Lydia Dawn of Blooming Energy will join us in making this celebration memorable as she bathes us in a special sound bath using her Himalayan singing bowls, Buffalo drum, and maybe even tuning forks. Congratulate yourself for making it this far!
If you have any questions about the retreat and what to expect, this is a good place to ask them. Your questions and comments will serve to help me to improve my process of guiding others through portal painting, so don't hold back.
I am so glad you are here!
